Biscuit-cinnamon Greek coffee is Greek coffee with a cinnamon biscuit flavour, made at our roastery in Athens. You brew it in the briki like any Greek coffee, it forms a thick foam (kaimaki), and it smells like a cinnamon biscuit fresh out of the oven.
What does biscuit-cinnamon Greek coffee taste like?
From the first sip you know you are drinking Greek coffee. Then the sweetness of the biscuit comes through, and the cinnamon stays on your palate at the end, warm and sweet. The intensity is mild, so the flavour goes along with the coffee instead of covering it. Because it tastes naturally sweet, many people drink it without sugar.
When we tasted it at the roastery, it surprised both of us. Sofia put it best.
“It’s like eating Christmas.”
Sofia, at our tasting
What coffee is inside?
It is our own one-of-a-kind flavoured blend, and only we make it. You will not find it anywhere else, and no one can replicate it. Other roasteries sell flavoured Greek coffee too, but none of them is the same as ours. It has Arabica and Robusta from Brazil and India, roasted medium to dark. It comes ground for the briki or as whole bean, in 250 g and 500 g bags.
Is it a Christmas coffee?
It is the coffee you want when it is cold outside and warm inside. Make a cup in the afternoon, sit on the sofa with the heating on, and the whole house smells like the holidays. If you are looking for a Christmas coffee for yourself, or a gift for someone who loves Greek coffee, this is it.
How do I make it?
Like any Greek coffee. Add one heaped teaspoon of coffee per cup, cold water and sugar if you like. Heat it slowly and take it off the stove as soon as the foam rises.
What goes well with it?
A cinnamon biscuit next to the cup. We also make our own cinnamon biscuits, and nothing pairs better.
Frequently asked questions
- Is it instant coffee?
No. It is real Greek coffee, ground for the briki, with a cinnamon biscuit flavour. It also comes as whole bean if you grind your own.
- Does it need sugar?
It tastes sweet on its own, so we suggest trying it plain first. If you take your Greek coffee medium or sweet, add sugar as usual.
- Does it make kaimaki (foam)?
Yes. It forms kaimaki like any Greek coffee, as long as you heat it slowly and do not let it boil.
- How many cups does a bag make?
A 500 g bag makes more than 70 cups, and a 250 g bag about half of that.
- Can I buy it from another roastery?
No. It is our own one-of-a-kind blend and only we make it, so you will only find it at our roastery and on rizopouloscoffee.gr.
- Is it a good Christmas gift?
Yes. It is a Christmas coffee for anyone who drinks Greek coffee, and together with a bag of cinnamon biscuits it makes a warm gift.
